I've been busy with work and everything, and not a ton has happened in my life. Wasabi and I are waiting for him to have a sit down with my grandparents and basically get their approval before we officially start dating. We both want to start this relationship on the right foot--with approval from both families.

Well, I've got to go get ready to game with some friends; I promise I'll try to update more!

- Merry Christmas to all... - Saturday, December 23, 2006

Okay, over 2 months since I updated. What's new? Well, I have a puppy now; she's a dachsund mix named Penny. And I currently have a man in my life who has become very special to me (I'll just call him "Wasabi"--it's an inside joke). We aren't dating yet, since he made a promise to not date for a year. But we're both excited, though we still want to have the approval of each other's family.

Well, I'm exhausted. And to finish up my title ...and to all a good night!

- Well, chaperoning wasn't too bad... - Sunday, October 15, 2006

It wasn't as painful as I thought, though there were a few images that I would have rather not seen--my brain needed a wire brush taken to it to scrub those from my memory. There wasn't a ton of hip-hop played while I was there (and Alexander, you're right, Beastie Boys are great, but they're a different kind of rap), and they actually played stuff that was popular when I was a kid--I heard "Ice, Ice Baby" in its entiriety for the first time since the 4th grade.

I met my sister's date, though I wasn't really able to talk to him. It's funny, because today when I called her, she asked what I thought of him, and I was thinking, "Hello, I saw/talked with him for a full 30 seconds. I'm not going to have an impression of him!" But I think she really likes him, so she's wanting to make sure I like him, too, I guess.

Well, I'm feeling better--not coughing as much, and I think the shingles are finally getting better. It seems to be clearing up well. I have a four day week; I'm going to a retreat this Friday and Saturday, and I've taken Friday off so I can go up to Pflugerville (what a name!). I should be back Saturday night.

I'm outta here. A good night to one and all.

- Well, better don my chef's hat - Saturday, October 14, 2006

It looks like I'll have to cook for my friend--my team lost 28-14. While it wasn't the worst score they've had, I was looking forward to not having to cook. Oh well, such is life.

I'm feeling better, just slightly stuffed up nose and itchy singles, but that's about it. I slept in until 9:30 this morning, and while that may not be sleeping in to some of y'all, it is for someone who normally gets up about 5:30 a.m. on the weekdays. Right now I'm just relaxing before I have to get ready to chaperone a homecoming dance--joy of joys, 2 hours of hip-hop and Tejano music and making sure that kids are in dress code and not bumping and grinding too much.

BTW, thanks Alexander for posting the comments--post as many as you like! lol

- Well, I finally found out what ails me.... - Thursday, October 12, 2006

Nothing more than postnasal drip and shingles. The shingles are burning/itching, but I've got stuff for that, as well as stuff for my cough--including suspension. Let me tell you, suspension is some good stuff! I'm already feeling the effects of the codeine, though I don't really need any help with getting sleepy. I had only one hour of undisturbed sleep; so yeah, I'll be ready for bed soon. lol

Well, have a wonderful evening everyone. I'm going to bed. ::falls over and starts sawing logs::

- Blech, I hate being sick... - Wednesday, October 11, 2006

Yeah, it seems I'm coming down with something, which means that I need to go to the doctor, something I'm not looking forward to. And I will probably have to wait until Friday to get in to see them, because I have a class to teach during the last period of the day. It started off as a scratchy throat, then a cough with a scratchy throat, and now it's coughing that's causing a scratchy throat. I'm really disappointed, too, because I was planning on going with a friend to the homecoming football game (just to say I went to a game, plus my friend and I have a wager going. Loser cooks the winner dinner). But with the high planning to be in the 60s and rain, I seriously doubt it's going to happen.

I hate being sick...:(

- Yay! New skin! - Saturday, October 07, 2006

A new skin--I love Saikano! And if you want to leave comments, leave them on the tagboard.

- I'm such a lazy blogger. -

I know, it's been forever since I've posted. Things are relatively well in my parts--work has been really busy. But I have found that some have been right--it does get easier as you get older. While I do have some real toots in my classes, it's overall been really well.

I have once again started bells at church, and I'm positively loving it. Even though I tend to get frustrated at myself--I have this issue with being a slight perfectionist. If I can't get a piece of music, I get really upset because in my mind, I think, "I'm smart! I know I'm smart--people have told me. So why can't I friggin' get this?!" I know, it's stupid, but I can't help it.

And then, there's a...development...in my personal life. I have been getting to know a guy more--I've known him for a few years, but we're talking more nowadays. In fact, we're both quite interested in each other, though he made a commitment to God to not date for an entire year, and he still has until January 1st. So we're using this time to get to know each other better before we even talk about dating. He's different from whom I'm normally attracted; he's from East Texas (those from Texas will understand what I mean), but he's so on fire for Christ that it has really inspired me to deepen my own relationship with Him even more.

Well, nothing else, but I promise that I'll try to update this more.

Random Quote of the Moment

The answer to life's biggest question--42.

Song Lyric of the Moment

Wherever we go, the dumb get wise / And the crime rates drop / And the markets rise / It’s a curious thing / But it’s just our thing // Bullies make nice, crooks repent / And the ozone layer shows improvement / It’s a curious thing / And it’s humbling /
